About Amanda

Amanda Lewis (she/her) is a Licensed Master Social Worker who brings compassion, curiosity, and a non-judgmental presence to her therapy practice. Amanda works collaboratively with clients, accompanying them in building lives rooted in their values and in who they truly are.

Approach to Therapy

Amanda approaches therapy through a social justice and decolonial lens, recognizing the systemic forces that shape our individual and collective well-being. She draws from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and other evidence-based approaches, tailoring her work to meet each client’s unique needs. Amanda supports clients in cultivating mindfulness and charting a balanced therapeutic path that honors both acceptance and meaningful change.

Education and Training

Amanda earned her Master of Social Work from Simmons University. She has specialized training in DBT, DBT-PE, CBT, ACT, and ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention). Amanda is currently working and training under the clinical supervision of Maddison Pezzelle.

Professional Experience

Amanda has worked with adults and adolescents across a range of settings, including community mental health, substance use treatment, domestic violence agencies, and private practice. She has experience working with neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ clients, and has supported individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, parenting and identity challenges, and emotional dysregulation including self-harm and suicidal ideation. Prior to becoming a therapist, Amanda worked in humanitarian response and international development — an experience that deeply informs her systemic, whole-person perspective.
