Mirinda Keane, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia, Maryland and DC

About Mirinda

Mirinda Keane (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to creating a warm, consistent, and affirming space where clients feel genuinely understood. She believes that healing happens when people feel safe enough to explore themselves honestly, their patterns, their relationships, and the experiences that have shaped them.

With over 15 years of personal and professional experience with psychotherapy, Mirinda brings both depth of knowledge and authentic compassion to her work. She partners collaboratively with clients to help them move beyond surviving and into truly thriving, building stronger relationships, greater self-awareness, and a life that feels meaningful.

Approach to Therapy

Mirinda blends relational, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioral approaches within a trauma-informed and compassion-based framework. She supports adults navigating trauma, anxiety and anxiety-related disorders, OCD, grief and loss, mood instability, emotional dysregulation, eating disorders, relationship difficulties, and family estrangement, including religious trauma and familial cutoffs.

Mirinda holds specialized training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT), which are considered gold-standard, evidence-based treatments for OCD. She also draws on DBT skills to help clients build emotional regulation and distress tolerance. Recognizing the vulnerability this work requires, she is intentional about creating a therapeutic environment where clients feel secure, seen, and affirmed at every step.

Education and Training

Mirinda earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore and her Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of Maryland, College Park. Her training and experience span diverse populations and levels of care throughout the DMV healthcare system, giving her a strong foundation in holistic, trauma-informed practice.

She is a Certified Trauma Professional and holds specialized training in grief work, OCD treatment (ERP and I-CBT), and working with individuals navigating complex relational and identity-based stressors.

Professional Experience

Mirinda has worked with adolescents and adults across individual and group settings, including experience within the public school system. Throughout her career, she has remained committed to meeting clients where they are, helping them identify strengths alongside struggles, build resilience, and develop the compassion for themselves that allows real change to take root.
