About Katie
Katie (Mary) Zweig (she/her) is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works to provide a warm and welcoming space for clients to explore their thoughts and emotions. Therapy is a vulnerable experience, and Katie works with each client to build trust and safety together. Katie values authenticity, non-judgment, and curiosity, using these values to guide her work with clients.
Katie has extensive experience treating eating disorders across every level of care, from residential and partial hospitalization to intensive outpatient and outpatient treatment, giving her a rare depth of understanding for how recovery unfolds at each stage.
Approach to Therapy
Katie operates from a psychodynamic, attachment-oriented framework. She is trauma-informed and Health at Every Size aligned. Katie primarily works with clients experiencing eating disorders, PTSD/C-PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship stressors, and adoption-related issues. She welcomes clients of all backgrounds and identities.
Education and Training
Katie earned her Master in Professional Mental Health Counseling from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, OR, where she also completed a certificate in the treatment of eating disorders. She completed specialized training in EMDR in 2026.
Professional Experience
Katie has worked extensively with adolescent and adult clients diagnosed with eating disorders, treating them across the full continuum of care, including residential, partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and outpatient settings. In these higher levels of care, she worked with clients individually as well as in group and family therapy, giving her firsthand insight into how eating disorder treatment progresses from the most structured settings down to independent outpatient work.
