Alexa Savage (she/her) is a Resident in Counseling in the state of Virginia, having earned her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University.

Her approach is grounded in person-centered therapy, where she places the individual’s needs, goals, and unique experiences at the forefront. Some of her past experience includes working with adolescents in a youth detention center, providing support to young adults with disabilities, and working with both adults and adolescents in a partial hospitalization program with a focus on Complex PTSD and Dissociative Disorders, as well as working with adults in outpatient settings.

Alexa believes in building a strong therapeutic alliance based on trust, empathy, and non-judgmental support. By creating a safe space, she encourages her clients to explore emotions, identify strengths, and develop effective coping mechanisms. She has worked extensively with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, self-harm, low self-esteem, and suicidal thoughts. She is also very passionate about supporting women through their perinatal and postpartum journey. She utilizes relational and attached-based approaches to help individuals navigate their unique challenges.
